The Crystal Teardrop - Nine Times Nine

‘Nine Times Nine’ is the debut release from The Crystal Teardrop and a perfect track for those hopefully ‘soon to come’ hot summer days. You can close your eyes and thrust your mind into a colourful, kaleido-sonic world, on a surreal journey. With its 60’s pop-rock tinged melodies mesmerizing round bright jangly guitars, atmospherical keyboards and reverberating vocal harmonies, it’s a gorgeous wall of psychedelic sound. ‘Nine Times Nine’ appears to be a journey through the thought process of whether to stay or go in a relationship, ‘always more to life than meets the eye’. The Crystal Teardrop is a refreshing new voice in the world of psychedelic garage rock that will hopefully be someday as well remembered and well regarded as the bands that they themselves reference all across this sumptuous track.

The band consists of Alexandra Rose on guitar, Mandola and vocals, Caitlin Hare on bass and backing vocals, Stuart Grey on organ and Connor Wells on drums. The band’s music demonstrates an innate affection for all things 1966 with influences ranging from classic artists such as The Beatles and The Kinks to West Coast favourites including The Great Society, Love and The Byrds. If you want to catch the band’s first live performance you can see them at the Le Beat Bespoke Festival at Strongrooms, Shoreditch on the day after the release of the single. There will be more dates to be announced, check out their facebook page. ‘Nine Times Nine’ comes out on the 7th April.
